June Scans

June Scans

We went in for Carey’s scans yesterday.  Unfortunately, it was a more difficult day than we were expecting.  Even though we are constantly trying to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best, this kind of news still hits like a ton of bricks.  In short, Carey’s cancer is progressing aggressively and is now starting to affect some vital organs.  Through lots of tears and prayer we are seeking out how to move forward from here.

There’s no right or wrong decision, but time is very precious and we want to use it wisely.  Please join us in praying over the next steps.

We have been so well loved and taken care of by our family and friends.  There really isn’t an adequate enough way to say thank you.  So many people have come around us as the hands and feet of Christ – meeting tangible needs and blessing our little family in tremendous ways.  Our yard has been taken care of, several delicious meals have been delivered, and the boys always have a fun and loving home to go to while Carey and I need to be up at Duke.  A large group came over just the other night and sent us off to an amazing dinner while they cleaned from top to bottom and did several projects that helped turn our house into a warm and comfortable home.  Many people – strangers even - have made donations that have helped ease our financial burden.  We have family that flies here to be with us from across the country and across the ocean on a moment’s notice if the need arises.  Honestly, the list goes on and on.  What I’m trying to say is during this storm we feel intensely loved.

The God of peace and comfort is holding us close.  “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” –Isaiah 41:10

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support.  We love you guys.
